Installing mud flaps or mud guards on a Ford F150 from 2004 to 2014 can be a little tricky, especially for the rear flaps. The reason for this is there are no wheel well liners or other places where the flaps can be mounted. If you buy some cheaper flaps or use some OEM flaps they are light enough that they can be mounted just on the outside edge of the fender. This will offer enough support for those flaps. If you have bought something more heavy duty and top of the line like the Truck Hardware Gatoback Mud Flaps this will not be enough support. The truck is going to need some kind of bracket or additional support surface. Luckily there are a couple of different options available that will not be a budget breaker.
