How to Install Truck Hardware 5/8” Offset Front Brackets and Mud Flaps on a 2010-2015 Dodge Ram

Some of the Truck Hardware mud flaps need to have a bracket installed prior to mounting the mudflap. Below are the instructions for installing the front brackets and mud flaps on Dodge Ram. The associated part # and link for the bracket is GB756687 along with your choice of mud flaps are availabe at SharpTruck.com.

The manufacturer is not responsible for negligent use of vehicle with mud flaps installed, including over-tightening of screws and bolts causing damage to vehicle or mud flaps. 

Tools Required:

  • ½” or 3/8” Drill
  • ¼” Drill Bit
  • #2 Phillips Screwdriver
  • 3/8” Socket Driver 
  • 5/16” & 3/8” Open End Wrench or Socket Wrench
  • 11/23” Open End Wrench or Socket Wrench

  • 4 - Flat Washer 0.203” x 1”-Part #018031
  • 2 - Machine Screw #10 x 1”, SS-Part #012022 
  • 2 - Lock Washer #10 Helicoil, SS-Part #024001
  • 2 - Hex Nut #10, SS-Part #025003

Installation:

(For ease of installation, it is suggested that the wheel be removed)

  1. Before you install your mud flap set, see the diagram and parts list for all necessary parts. Cut protective plastic and peel away from the stainless steel. Start on the driver’s side.
     
  2. Remove the factory screws on the wheel well flare as shown the on the diagram. Re-install the two (2) factory screws in hole #2 and #4, through the factory holes #6 and #7. Loosely secure at this point.
     
  3. Square the flap with the tire while putting pressure against the wheel flare.
     
  4. Now tighten the two (2) factory screws on holes #2 & #4, then secure the mud flap with two (2) Tek Screw #010011 and two (2) Flat Washer #018028, on hole #1 & #3.
     
  5. Drill ¼” hole (1) from hole #5 through the factory plastic liner and secure with one (1) Machine Screw #012022, two (2) Flat Washer #018031, one (1) Lock Washer #024001 and one (1) Hex Nut #025003.
