Truck Hardware PDM Skid Plate - 2017-2022 Ford F-250/350 - Diesel Only

Installed this skid plate on my 2019 F350 Superduty Diesel after smashing my transmission oil pan. Instructions were clear and it bolted right up. A little tricky getting the front bolts but not a big deal. This thing fits great and looks awesome. Money well spent!

The hardware it great.  The design is nice and the welds are well done, but short of beautiful.  There needs to be a second rubber bumper on the drivers side.  I cut and installed a piece of rubber as the plate vibrates against the cross member if you don’t.  The major rub is the directions.  Good directions list the tools you will need so you can lay everything out prior to starting; great directions are detailed about the tools, saying things like,”deep sockets, and step drill bit” These directions have none of that.  The order of operations in the directions is also very poorly done.  The easiest way I found to install the front bolts is from the inside sticking out.  The diagram attempts to show this badly, but it is not written in the directions.  The second to last step of install, after the whole assembly is fully tightened down is, “Insert the rubber bumper FROM THE TOP DOWN on the skid plate.”  Guess what, you can’t, because it is tightened down.  This should be step 1 after going through the component list.  It would have been much easier to do this on the bench as opposed to battling it in a confined space under the truck.

Skid plate fit well straight forward install.  Had to wait for parts kit as packaging opened during shipping and missing parts.  After install noticed that oil filter would not fit through the factory hole.  Had to cut away material as shown in the photo to fit vehicle and serviceability.

Ordered this skid plate for my truck.  Install was a bit of challenge for just one of the bolts at the engine (one you had to enlarge hole on).  I used a small rubber hose with shrink tape around around hose and end of bolt.  Once I did that, it was super easy to get that bolt through plate to tighten down.  Using that method would have saved about 30 minutes.  overall, the plate is very thick and once installed is rock solid.  Just a great design and it looks fantastic and adds piece of mind.  The opening for the filter and oil drain plug is large enough that changing oil will never be an issue.  This is a must buy!

Skid Plate is perfect fit.  Great to have it on and knowing it will protect the oil pan.  I had it custom powder coat to match lift kit and wheels.

This product satisfied what is needed for front of vehicle.  Cannot find any plates to cover fuel tank.  Have installed cover for transmission and motor oil pan.  These items required for driving on rough roads in Colorado and Texas.  Light bar perfect for snow

Pretty straight forward installation. Right forward bolt was tricky. Long needle nose (storks) to get things started. Long open end to finish it off.  Very solid plate aluminum. 5 stars.
