Care & Maintenance
Read this carefully — TruXedo states that failure to follow these care instructions and warnings will void your warranty.
- Cleaning: Clean with mild automotive soap and water only.
- Do NOT use conditioners containing silicone or petroleum. These can damage the fabric and void coverage — which rules out many common vinyl/rubber "protectant" sprays. When in doubt, soap and water.
- Secure the cover when driving: It must be secured at all points when the vehicle is in motion. If it isn't fully closed with the rear latch engaged, it must be completely rolled up and secured at the cab with both provided retainer straps.
- Never drive with the cover partially open. Fully closed and latched, or fully rolled and strapped — nothing in between.
- Keep cargo off the tarp: Cargo shouldn't contact the fabric; protrusions and shifting loads can stress and damage it. (Carry gear on a rack in the T-slots, not resting on the cover.)
- Check rail clamps for tightness after a week of driving and periodically thereafter.
- Do not roll the cover into the rear cab window.
- Winter note: In freezing conditions ice can adhere to the fabric; clear it gently rather than prying or scraping.

- Covered: Defects in materials and workmanship, for the original purchaser.
- Registration REQUIRED: Warranty registration must be on file, and/or proof of original purchase (a detailed, dated receipt) is required for the warranty to be effective. Register online through TruXedo/RealTruck after purchase — don't skip this step.
- Not covered / voids warranty: Damage from accidents, neglect, unforeseeable or unreasonable use, improper installation, improper servicing or removal, modifications, acts of God, and normal wear and tear. Failure to follow the care instructions above (including using silicone or petroleum-based conditioners, or driving with the cover partially open) will also void the warranty.
