Question: are they identical for front and rear? Will these attach to bolt on fender flares instead of wheel well and still be secure?

Answer from the SharpTruck team: The front and rears are the same. You will want these to be fastened to the lip of the fender itself and not the plastic flare. The brackets do have self tapping screws that will make a hole in the flare and secure it to the metal fender.
