Now that they are installed I am really pleased with the dually mud flaps. The quality of the material is top notch. They are made of a thick gauge rubber that has substantial weight. I ordered the mounting brackets for the rear flaps and again the material was top-notch. The bracket and all mounting hardware was stainless steel. The only complaint...well it really isn't a complaint...more of a warning...is that putting the rear mud flaps on by yourself is a chore. The main problem is that the mounting bracket has to be screwed on the backside of the fender lining. This requires that you reach all the way to the top of the space of the back of the fender lining to install the bracket, which has 4 bolts, 8 fender washers, 4 lock washers and 4 nuts to install. This was a very tedious process. At first I could not comprehend how I was going to get the washers and nut on the backside of the bracket due to the small space couple with having to lift my upper body with abdomen crunches all while trying to put the various washers and nuts on the bolt. I finally came up with the system of putting the fender washer, lock washer and nut on the bolt and then using masking tape to tape the washers and nut together than unscrewing the "assembly" from the bolt. At that point I had one "unit" which I could manage to screw on all together under the truck. If you have a creeper (which I didn't), especially one with an elevating head, it would make things much easier. After getting the bracket installed you have to "interpret" the instructions for where the mounting bolts go. The drawing is not very intuitive but if you study it for awhile all becomes "clearer". To put the bolts, fender washers, lock washers and nuts on the remaining holes would be much easier if a helper was available. I didn't have one and managed to get all on but with some more stretching and odd positioning. BTW, the video of the installation is helpful but VERY misleading, It is much more difficult to install than the impression it gives. The only technical problem I had was that on my 2019 RAM 3500 dually with fender flairs, one of the pre-drilled holes of the flap did not line up with the factory holes on the the fender flair. I called Sharp Truck and spoke with technical support and couldn't have been more pleased. The person who helped was very knowledgeable. He asked me to send him a couple of photos of my problems, which I did, and within 15 minutes he called me back, having spoken with the manufacturer. All I had to do was to use one of the self-tapping bolt that came with the flap (as opposed to the bracket) to secure it. (The instructions does say this but it was so hidden I didn't see it. Again, while the instructions do work but they could use more of a step-by-step approach instead of the "exploded drawing' they use. One other issue I encountered was that the outer rear wheel must be removed to drill the holes through the fender liner. I have a right-angle drill but even it wouldn't fit. This really isn't that big a deal but it was something I didn't know before beginning the project. The video gives you the impression that this wouldn't be necessary. In summary, I am very happy with the dually flaps and would definitely would buy them again. I just didn't realize it was going to take all day to install them. I guess I was naive. Bottom line, I love them and feel even more so because I had to really work to get them on!
I installed these on my 2016 GMC 2500hd (stock height). They are the 12x26". Easy install with the tires on. You must purchase the metal mounting brackets. They are long enough so that snow, rocks and mud are kept off the rear of the truck. The 12x23" will work on 1500 stock height trucks.
I installed these 12x26" on my 2016 GMC 2500hd (stock height). Smooth install. I was able to install with the tires on. If you have a 2500 I would suggest buying the 26" length. This keeps snow, rocks and mud from getting thrown up onto the running boards or rocker panels. The 23" will work for stock height 1500 as I had them on my 2015 Laramie Limited ecodiesel. I drove the truck the next day after install in the snow and was amazed how clean the running boards and rocker panels where. You will see that in the pics
All around these were the simplest mudflats I have ever installed. They are heavy duty and utilized two of the factory wheel well bolts. I have aggressive mud terrain tires and these provide great protection to the wheel wells as well as the rocker panels. They are wide enough that you can install them to slightly be outside of the wheel well and this keeps the tires from throwing road salt all over the passenger and driver side window. I would highly recommend this product.
Good product but expensive. Written Instructions are not very clear. Read the instructions and watch the youtube video before you start the install. Good coverage with 35x12.50 tires. Adjusted the hole positions slightly to position the flap out further to provide more coverage.
