I asked my friends if the BW hitch was worth getting and they all had the same answer…. YES!. I can now see why….this thing is SOLID and I know it will be the last hitch I’ll ever have to buy. Besides the craftsmanship and ease to use this thing is is absolutely gorgeous. I’m glad I listened to everyone and pulled the trigger on this product, I definitely don’t regret it!
I ordered this 7/6/22 my truck was built 6/1/22 wanted it for vacation in July. Picked my new truck up 12/31/22. probable won't get a chance to use it until summer to pull my camper. It looks great and I am sure it will do more than I would ever want. Very well built.
I bought this hitch for my 2022 F250 Fx4 Superduty. A key consideration as to which hitch (4-1/2" or 7" adjustable drop) to buy is the amount of drop required for your specific truck and trailer combination. B&W does a great job of telling you how to calculate the amount of drop needed for your specific trailer, however another aspect that needs to be considered is ground clearance of the hitch. B&W recommends a minimum of 11" ground clearance, however B&W does not provide sufficient dimensions of its hitches to determine ground clearance. I contacted B&W customer service 1-800-248-6564 and they provided the following information for their 3" hitches: "The 4.5" drop measures 8.3" long. The 7.5" drop measures 11.1" long. When you tow in the lowest position with both pins installed in the drop the ball can be approximately 2" longer." The distance from the inside top tube of my truck hitch receiver to the ground is 22", so I bought the 4-1/2" drop as the 7" drop would be too long and not provide sufficient ground clearance. After installing the hitch, I measured 11-1/4" ground clearance with the hitch in its lowest position and the 2" ball pointed up (2-5/16" ball pointed down). Stowing the hitch, I rotated the balls, so that the 1-7/8" is pointed downward. In the highest stowed position, I measured 13-3/4" ground clearance.
