Details of the newly redesigned 2018 Chevy Equinox are beginning to come out. The new models are expected to be slightly smaller than the current version and feature a 1.6L Turbocharged Diesel engine that is estimated to produce 40 MPG in an SUV! The Equinox has been the second best selling vehicle behind the Chevy Silverado year to date.
With the variety of changes coming to this small SUV line, the most interesting is the addition of the diesel engine into General Motors Equinox line of SUVs. The possible fuel economy benefits will be awesome since you can now get your family into your vehicle, hit the road and get 40 miles per gallon. GM is trying to redefine their small to mid-sized SUV to compete with the top selling Ford Escape. Many top of the line options will also be included for driver assistance on the higher level trim packages. Camera options, blind spot alerts and other safety features are being built into this great redesigned SUV.
The 2018 Chevy Equinox will be powered with the availablity of three different engine options. The base 1.5L Turbo gas engine, a 2.0L Turbo gas engine and the fuel efficient 1.6L Diesel.

If you like to take your SUV on trips, towing shouldn't be a problem with the revamped Chevrolet Equinox. The estimated towing rating will be around 3,500 pounds which is similar to the Ford Escape.
